How Long to Cook a Salmon Fillet in Aluminum Foil
When you wrap a salmon fillet in aluminum foil for a classic oven-baked salmon, it will take between 10 and 30 minutes to bake, depending on the size of the fillet. The foil gives the fish some protection and allows you to cook with more heat while holding in juices that can help to steam the fish, speeding up the cooking process. Ideally, you’ll cook the fillet for 15-20 minutes at 375 degrees. If you're cooking at a temperature of 400 degrees or higher, make sure you check the salmon often: Salmon is delicate meat that even confident chefs can easily overcook. Take a peek at the fish after 10 minutes, then give it a few more minutes at a time if it's not done yet.
