How Long to Cook Fish in the Oven
Most types of fish will take about 15 to 20 minutes to cook in the oven. To make baked fish, start by preheating your oven to 350 degrees. Then, wrap your fish in foil and bake it until it's done. Different types of fish will require a different amount of time depending on their thickness, so make sure to check your fish at the 15-minute mark to gauge how far along it is.
You'll know your fish is done cooking when it flakes easily with a fork. You can also check it with a meat thermometer: You're looking for a temperature of 145 degrees.
