How Long to Cook a Spiral Ham
It takes about 2 hours to bake a spiral ham, depending on the size of your ham. Since the vast majority of spiral hams are precooked, you're really just trying to get the meat nice and hot. Our favorite honey-baked spiral ham recipe takes 2 hours to cook through in a 250-degree oven. When you're planning out your cooking timetable, you should factor in about 15 minutes per pound of ham.
You can determine when your spiral ham is fully cooked by using a meat thermometer. Stick the probe into the thickest part of the meat, taking care not to let it touch the bone. For most spiral hams, you'll be looking for an internal temperature of 140 degrees. However, if your ham wasn't precooked, make sure it reaches at least 145 degrees.
