How Long to Boil Elbow Macaroni
Whenever you buy a box of elbow macaroni from the grocery store, you will likely find a general suggested time frame on it to give you an idea of how long to cook it, which will usually tell you to boil the pasta for 8 to 10 minutes. But it never hurts to taste-test the noodles starting at about the 6-minute mark: You want to make sure that your pasta is cooked al dente, not mushy.
