How Long to Cook Lobster
The most popular ways to cook lobster are by boiling it or steaming it! Both options can create a delicious and juicy lobster that you'll be proud to serve to your loved ones. Cook times primarily depend on how much each individual lobster weighs. The cook times will create a slightly under-cooked lobster because lobsters continue to cook as they drain and you don't want an overcooked lobster, they tend to be rubbery and tough.
How Long to Boil Lobster

How Long to Steam Lobster

If you aren't sure if your lobster is fully cooked, use a meat thermometer and stick it into the thickest part of the tail (through the lobster's underside) to check. It's considered fully cooked when it reaches 135 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit. You'll also be able to tell it's cooked because the meat will be white and it will be easy to separate the tail from the body.
