How Long To Cook Kale
Kale is a vegetable prone to bitterness when it's overcooked. Whether steaming or sautéing kale, we recommend limiting the cooking time to 3 to 5 minutes. The kale is done when it begins to wilt and becomes tender. Cooking it past the point of wilting will result in kale that has a bitter taste and poor texture. We also recommend cutting the ribs off the kale and working the leaves in a sort of gentle massaging motion before cooking it to reduce the bitter taste.
