How Long to Cook Unsoaked Beans
Cooking unsoaked beans reduces the cooking time of your beans. While soaking them overnight is helpful, not everybody has the time or ability to do that! Instead, there are a few different methods you can try to cook unsoaked beans in less than 2 hours.
You can opt to rinse your beans, place them in a large pot, cover them with water and bring that water to a boil. Once the water starts to boil, cover the beans and reduce the heat to a simmer and stir every 20 minutes for approximately 2 hours or until they're fully cooked.
The other method includes rinsing your beans, placing them in a cast iron pot, covering them with 2 to 3 inches of water, and then baking them at 375 degrees for 2 hours. At the end of those 2 hours, check on the beans to see if they're cooked to your liking. If they are not, cover and place the beans back in the oven for another 15 minutes.
