How Long to Boil Crawfish
It takes 15 minutes to boil crawfish (or crayfish, depending on where you're from). Crawfish are similar to shrimp but live in freshwater and have tougher shells. Boiling is the best method to soften them up and prepare them to eat. You can also add potatoes and corn to the pot and make a full meal all at once: Just be sure to give the potatoes a head start, adding them to the pot a few minutes before the crawfish. Remove the crawfish from the pot promptly once they've been in for 15 minutes, as they'll become mushy if you overcook them.
